MEET OUR TRAINERS

KEVIN HARRIGAN

From as young as he can remember Kevin has been obsessed with basketball. He worked tirelessly throughout his high school career at Nauset High School to go on to play at Williston Northampton Prep and then at Ithaca College. After years of working in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, Kevin returned to Cape Cod immediately started volunteering with his old high school at Nauset. He hasn’t stopped coaching since, Kevin loves working one on one with players to grow their games and try to find opportunities for them to succeed at the next level. He’s currently the Head Coach for Nauset’s Varsity Boys Basketball team and looks forward to passing on his love of the game to the next generation of Cape Cod hoopers.

DAVID LAINE

David was a four year starter at Bourne High School, winning a conference championship in 2017. He then went on to play 3 seasons at Bridgewater State University. After his playing days he jumped into the coaching world. Coaching for multiple club programs he finally found a home here with Team Sims. He is currently an assistant coach at Bridgewater State University where he was a part of the program’s biggest turnaround, going from a 4 win season to an 18 win season in 2023. David wants to spread his love of the game to all the future hoopers through being a positive teammate and hard work.

BEN VITALE

Ben has always been obsessed with the game of basketball and the intricacies of what it takes to make a great player and a great team. Ben played for Carver High School before playing 1 year at Dean College and 2 years at Bridgewater State. During his time in college he was also the Assistant Varsity Coach at his alma mater Carver High School where he will be taking over as the JV Coach in 2025.

Ben has been coaching with Team Sims since 2023. He enjoys coaching the Boys High School AAU Teams who participate in competitive tournaments all over the East Coast. He also trains athletes privately and in small group sessions at Sims Basketball Academy during the summer months, helping players build on their skills and confidence on the basketball court.

Ben’s coaching style is catered around building a positive environment, using strong teamwork and molding all players into leaders on and off the court.

DONTA PHILLIPS

TODD TINKHAM

Todd Tinkham played high school basketball at Old Town High School. After High School he played at Mass Bay Community College where he broke the 3 point record for makes in a season. After Mass Bay he played semi pro for several different teams. He currently coaches at Falmouth High School and for the Mass Wolves ABA Mens basketball team.

SEAN FITZPATRICK

Sean played basketball for Falmouth High School where he was a league all-star for 2 years, followed by postgrad year at The Winchendon School. He attended college at UMass Dartmouth, graduating in 2014. Sean just finished his 9th season of coaching at Falmouth High School, his last 4 seasons being the JV coach and lead assistant to the Varsity. He has been an instrumental part of Team Sims for the last 6 years, coaching various AAU Teams, running clinics at the Academy and providing private training.
